Mick Jagger has taken to Instagram to apologize to fans after The Rolling Stones were forced to reschedule their Miami Gardens performance due to the looming threat of Hurricane Dorian. Originally set for Saturday, August 31, at the Hard Rock Stadium, the concert was moved to Friday, August 30, to ensure safety and avoid cancellation.
“We’re very sorry for any inconvenience caused by bringing the Miami show forward,” the 76-year-old rocker wrote. “Friday is the only clear day for a while, and we still want to play for you rather than have to cancel a show. Hope to see you there!”
While fans were understanding of the change, the rescheduling came with challenges. Latin rock star Juanes, initially set to open the show, was unable to adjust his schedule, leaving the Stones without an opening act. The band’s official Instagram page confirmed the update, assuring fans that all tickets would still be honored for the new date.
Earlier that day, Jagger was seen on his hotel balcony in Miami alongside girlfriend Melanie Hamrick, 32, their 2-year-old son Deveraux, and bandmates Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood. Despite the gloomy weather, Hamrick appeared cheerful, sporting a black tank top and white shorts before changing into a summery white dress. Meanwhile, Richards and Wood looked less enthusiastic, with Richards donning a quirky “Do not x-ray” T-shirt and leopard-print boxers.
Notably absent was drummer Charlie Watts, 78, as the group prepared for their rescheduled performance. The Rolling Stones had arrived in Miami just hours earlier on their private plane after a late-night flight.
Despite the disruptions, the band remains committed to delivering an unforgettable show. As Hurricane Dorian looms, the Stones’ quick action underscores their dedication to fans while prioritizing safety.
