Real Madrid beat Real Betis 2-0 at home thanks to two goals from Kylian Mbappe, who scored his first La Liga goals on the fourth try.

In Madrid’s first three league games, Mbappe failed to score, which caused the winners to lose points at Mallorca and Las Palmas.

 

 

On Sunday, things were different. In the 67th minute, Mbappe scored after Federico Valverde set him up with a beautiful pass.

 

 

Then, eight minutes later, he made it 2-0 from the penalty spot, giving Real Madrid all three points.

Mbappe hadn’t scored in his first three La Liga games, but he did score in his first game for his new team, the UEFA Super Cup final.

 

Vinicius Jr. won the penalty kick but gave it to a teammate, who did a great job.

 

Carlo Ancelotti, the manager, said before the game that he wasn’t worried about Mbappe’s short goal slump.

 

“Mbappé is playing great, even though he hasn’t scored yet.” His power makes things dangerous. “It’s not a problem for him to settle in here,” Ancelotti told the press before his team played Real Betis on Sunday.

 

I think that Vinícius and Mbappé work well together, and the offence is very good. We haven’t had any trouble because we’ve scored in every game.
