Romania secures dominant 3-0 victory against Ukraine in Euro 2024 opener: Stanciu, Tănase, and Radu shine

Romania got their Euro 2024 campaign off to an impressive start with a 3-0 win over Ukrаine at the Allianz Arena on June 17.

Romania took the lead in the 28th minute thanks to **Nicolae Stanciu**’s beautiful long-range shot. The midfielder launched a dangerous shot from the edge of the penalty area, the ball went into the Ukrainian net despite goalkeeper **Anatoliy Trubin**’s efforts to block it.

Romania doubled their lead in the 58th minute with a goal from **Florin Tănase**. This striker took advantage of a smart move to catch **Alexandru Cicâldău**’s pass and finish successfully.

Andrei Radu sealed the victory for Romania with a goal in the 84th minute. The defender scored after a corner kιck from Mihai Dănescu

Ukrаine tried to recover from the loss in the final minutes of the match but was unsuccessful. They had some chances but couldn’t take advantage.

This victory helps Romania have 3 points after the first match of Group E. They are temporarily ranked second, behind Belgium, the team that defeated Slovakia 1-0 in the previous match. Ukrаine ranked fourth with 0 points.

This was the first time Romania defeated Ukrаine in an official match. The two teams have met 5 times before, with Ukrаine winning 2, Romania 1 win and 2 draws.

Romania’s next match will be against Slovakia on June 21. Ukrаine will face Belgium on the same day.
