Sesko accepts a transfer offer from Arsenal as the Gunners negotiate a £45M agreement

Benjamin Sesko wants to join Arsenal this summer.

RB Leipzig striker Sesko is attracting interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Italy. The Slovenia international prefers coming to Arsenal after a protracted tussle, and Arsenal appear to be in pole position to get him for £45m.

This is a significant development for Arsenal, as Mikel Arteta seeks a young striker to complement Kai Havertz, who was a standout last season. Elvis Basanovic, his agent, has attended Arsenal matches this season and found Sesko, who turns 21 on Friday, suitable.RB Leipzig will sell this summer if they can get the appropriate offer, even though he has only been with them for a year but has been in the same “family” since joining Red Bull Salzburg in 2019.

At the Euros in Germany this summer, Slovenia will play England in the Group stage with Sesko in the squad. The 6ft 5in, goal-scoring striker is not Arsenal’s sole option, but they’ve been scouting him all season.

Ajax star Brian Bobbey and Brighton’s Evan Ferguson have been considered, although Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Newcastle attacker Alexander Isak are no longer in consideration.

Arsenal are seeking a No. 9 and winger, and may pursue a midfielder if Thomas Partey leaves this summer.

Arsenal will have funds to spend, but expect exits of Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah, Reiss Nelson, and Emile Smith. Rowe may leave as Bayern Munich monitors Oleksandr Zinchenko.
