In a revealing interview with German publication Rock Antenne, Metallica’s bassist, Robert Trujillo, shared the unexpecteԀ sеcrеt behind his long, lush hair.
While Trujillo credited his genetics, particularly from his Native American father, for his healthy hair, he also disclosed an unconventional hair care regimen. When asked if he used any special conditioners, Trujillo said, “You know, a little bit of bееr in there and some Jägermeister. Those are the key ingredients to fresh hair: Bееr and Jäger.”
However, Trujillo admitted that his impressive mane comes with a downside. The long strands often clog drains, leading to hefty plumbing bills.
Jägermeister, a German digestif, is made from a blend of 56 herbs, fruits, roots, and spices, including citrus peel, licorice, anise, poppy seeds, saffron, ginger, juniper berries, and ginseng. These natural ingredients might contribute to healthier hair, but there’s no scientific evidence to back up Trujillo’s claim. So, it’s best to think twice before using Jägermeister as a hair treatment.
As for the bееr, Trujillo didn’t specify his preferred brand. It’s tempting to wonder if he has experimented with other spirits, like whiskey—especially since Metallica has its own popular brand, Blackened.
