Adidas has given Arsenal a vintage Originals apparel line that features the club’s stripped-down emblem alongside the Trefoil insignia, as the brand shifts its focus from other European teams to the Premier League.
In case you’ve been under a rock lately, adidas has been busy reviving some old football heroes as part of its ‘Bring it Back’ campaign, which is all about diving into the enduring world of football greats. Arsenal are the newest club to receive a full set of merchandise, including hoodies, sweatshirts, tees, the obligatory Beckenbauer tracksuit, and a pair of Gazelles, as part of the Originals banner, which has been supplying both its federations and top tier clubs with individual collections topped off with the returning Trefoil logo.
As with their most recent third shirt for the 2019–20 season, the collection features one of the Gunners’ most recognizable alternative strip color schemes: deep blue with yellow accents. Several pieces bear a gothic Arsenal phrase on the back, beside the cannon club logo and Trefoil branding; the tracksuit is accentuated by the Three Stripes.
In addition to a slew of off-field highlights, Arsenal and adidas have collaborated on multiple prematch collections. The most current one was the Ian Wright collection, which was produced in celebration of the Arsenal legend’s 60th birthday and was recently worn by the men‘s and women‘s teams. In addition, the club sported the newest ‘Love Unites’ prematch jacket before their match against Luton Town. The track jacket from this collection could make an appearance in upcoming weeks, especially if the team follows manager Mikel Arteta’s lead (he wore it to his press conference before the Aston Villa game).
