David Raya clinches Premier League Golden Glove

Arsenal’s goalkeeper, David Raya, has emerged as the undisputed winner of the 2023/24 Castrol Golden Glove. This remarkable achievement comes in his inaugural season with the Gunners.

Raya achieved his 15th clean sheet of the season in the Premier League during Saturday’s impressive 3-0 victory against AFC Bournemouth. This outstanding record is unmatched by any other player. His closest competitor, Jordan Pickford from Everton, has managed to keep a clean sheet in 12 matches, but he only has two games left to play.

Raya joins an elite group of Arsenal goalkeepers who have been awarded the prestigious Golden Glove. This honor has previously been bestowed upon the likes of Wojciech Szczesny and Petr Cech, who achieved this feat in the 2013/14 and 2015/16 seasons, recording an impressive 16 clean sheets each.

He is the third Spaniard to win the award, following in the footsteps of David De Gea, who claimed it in the seasons of 2017/18 and 2022/23, and Pepe Reina, who achieved the honor for three consecutive seasons from 2005/06 to 2007/08.
