Arsenal’s new signing, 25, was photographed as a teen painting his Sao Paulo neighborhood’s streets before the 2014 World Cup.

A year later, ambitious Jesus was making his mark at Palmeiras and became one of his country’s brightest prospects.

By the end of 2016, the striker had signed a massive contract with Manchester City and scored twice on his international debut. All this by 19.

Jesus’ rise and City performances had Pep Guardiola call him the ‘greatest in the world’.Jesus, 17, played for Palmeiras’ youth team and was photographed painting Sao Paulo city sidewalks with a paint brush.

It was part of a local movement to celebrate the 2014 World Cup.

Jesus embraced his Jardim Peri neighborhood and painted it brighter to improve its dismal living conditions.

Jesus got a tattoo of a tiny boy with a football under his arm looking back at his favela. He played the ‘Varzea’ method on dirt pitches to improve his football talents.

At Tremembe’s Pequeninos do Meio Ambiente football team, he showed his passion from 8 to 14.

Because he couldn’t afford the bus price, he walked an hour and a half to training every Saturday in flip-flops and worn-out football boots. That eight-mile round trip may have made him a tireless and hard-working player. His mother Vera raised Jesus and has kept him in check since he became famous.

His father died soon after his birth, and she worked three jobs to raise her four children, recognizing Jesus’ ball skills.

Jesus still remembers her strugglе. His signature phone call celebration honors his mother when he scores.

Jesus signed a Palmeiras youth contract in 2013. He also excelled in school.

After passing his exams with distinction, his former Guilherme de Almeida state college headteacher suggested he could have been a scientist.

However, football was too appealing.

He led Palmeiras to the 2014 u17 state championship with 37 goals in 22 games.

His talents were already being noticed by Europe’s elite clubs, but education had to wait.

Jesus was propelled into the Palmeiras first squad in 2015, appearing 37 times in all competitions from the bench and scoring seven goals.

Next year, it would grow better. He played 46 times and scored 21 goals.

Palmeiras won their first league title in 22 years under him.

Clearly, he was headed for the big stage at 19.Manchester City signed Jesus in 2016 for £30million, beating several other clubs.

“I want to win titles, and Manchester City is a winning club,” he declared upon joining. City consistently competes for the title in the events it enters, and Pep Guardiola and the players were important.” Prediction of what followed.

He made his club debut in January 2017 and scored seven goals in 11 appearances.

Despite a broken metatarsal in his fourth game, he settled in well.

Next season, he won his first Premier League title, followed by two more a year later.

Jesus scored 45 goals in his first 100 outings for the club, competing with Sergio Aguero at centre striker.

The 2018 World Cup wasn’t perfect.

Brazil were favorites until that Russia spectacular.

Captain Dani Alves compared Jesus to Ronaldo a year earlier, raising expectations.

However, the weight on his young shoulders left him flailing as he led his country’s line.

On such occasions, Brazil’s No9 should score. Jesus failed—scoring zero.

They were eliminated by Belgium in the quarterfinals.

Jesus was self-critical and bravely stated it plagued him.

“That elimination of ours was a blоw for all of us, especially for me,” he stated.

I didn’t score at the World Cup despite being a vital player. This impacts you.

“That scarred me. People will always remember Gabriel’s World Cup lack of scoring.”

Perhaps that hangover has hampered him recently, along with worries about his goalscoring ability and being put out wide instead of center forward.

Pep Guardiola supported his striker despite reservations.

Last season, Jesus’ first without Aguero, he scored four goals against Watford to prove his importance to his boss.

A move to Arsenal was already rumored.

After the game, Guardiola stressed his value to the team at a press conference.

Gabriel is our player. His future is uncertain, but he is a Manchester City player “Spain said.Gabriel doesn’t need to score four goals like tonight to show his potential. Gabriel has an exceptional ability because he always thinks of the team. He missed two clear man-to-man chances against Liverpool in the FA Cup.

“He makes a thоusand million motions for others even though he doesn’t get the ball. Because he’s always there, I’m the happiest man in the world on evenings like this.

“If he doesn’t play he’s there training the day after like it’s his last day, that’s why he will have a long career, he will have a successful career because of the incredible positivity in his mind and thinks for the team.”

Guardiola said, “What we have done this season we have done with Gabriel, Gabriel is one of the best.”Jésus, who has a daughter named Helena with Wag Raiane, will bring his contagious energy to Arsenal, where he will rejoin former City assistant Mikel Arteta.

Locals painted a mural of their favorite son to honor his career. Now it just needs red paint.
