Ulrich’s marital journey began in 1988 with his first marriage to Debbie Jones, a British woman he met while on tour. However, their union ended in divorce in 1990, coinciding with the recordings of the Black album.
His second marriage was to Skylar Satenstein, an emerge𝚗cy medicine physician, which lasted from 1997 to 2004, during which they welcomed two sons before parting ways. Subsequently, Ulrich’s sons, Layne and Myles, embarked on their musical journey by forming a band called Taipei Houston.
Following his divorce from Satenstein, Ulrich entered a relationship with Danish actress Connie Nielsen from 2004 to 2012, with whom he had a child. In 2015, he tied the knot with American fashion model Jessica Miller.
Beyond his personal life, Ulrich shares a friendship with Noel Gallagher and his former band Oasis, citing Gallagher as his inspiration to quit cоcaine in the 2000s. Additionally, Ulrich has a deep appreciation for fine art, as evidenced by his sale of a painting from his personal collection, Self Portrait by Jean-Michel Basquiat, 1982, in 2002. The painting, initially estimated to fetch $5 million, ultimately sold for triple that amount at Christie’s Auction House.
In 2009, Ulrich disclosed that he suffers from tinnitus, a condition attributed to years of touring without adequate auditory protection.
