Ben White is labelled as a “bastard” for his smug performance against his former club Brighton

After a scuffle with Seagulls star Pervis Estupinan off the ball, the Arsenal defender slid to the ground. In a video of the incident, White was seen pushing the Ecuadorian as he jogged by, and White fell to the ground when the Estupinian shoved back.

Fans chastised the 26-year-old on social media. Another was outraged: “Ben White is such a creep, man. What game is he playing? “Why is VAR unable to condemn players for such blatant cheating? There is no reason why the VAR cannot book the referee for flagrant cheating. It comes less than a month after White received criticism for telling England boss Gareth Southgate that he did not want to be called up for international duty. Since abruptly leaving England’s camp midway through the 2022 World Cup owing to what looked to be a disagreement with Southgate’s assistant Steve Holland, the Gunners star has not been named to the Three Lions squad.Aside from his embarrassing exploits against Brighton, White enjoyed a good day at work in his old haunts. Arsenal took the lead with a penalty kιck from Bukayo Saka in the first half. Kai Havertz doubled the tally midway through the second half. With five minutes left, Leandro Trossard—another former Brighton player—scored a third goal to ensure Mikel Arteta’s club finished the day one point ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League. Nonetheless, if Jurgen Klopp’s side defeats Manchester United on Sunday, they will overtake Arsenal.Since joining Arsenal for £50 million from Brighton in 2021, White has been a consistent member of the squad. Despite spending the majority of his career at center back, he has established himself as a regular right back, appearing in 125 games over three seasons in north London.
