METALLICA’s bassist Robert Trujillo shared his perspective on performing in stadiums, describing it as a blessing
In a recent interview with The Break Down With Nath & Johnny, METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo shared his thoughts on playing big stadium shows versus smaller intimate gigs. Trujillo expressed his appreciation for both types of performances, highlighting the unique energy of stadium shows while also valuing the intimacy of smaller venues.
Trujillo emphasized that while stadium shows are a remarkable experience, they may not be sustainable indefinitely. He acknowledged the possibility of returning to smaller venues in the future, emphasizing that he doesn’t have a preference between the two settings.
The bassist reflected on the rewarding experience of sharing music in smaller venues, noting that it’s where many musicians, including himself, often find themselves. He stressed the importance of having both types of performances in his career, recognizing the blessings of playing in stadiums while still feeling connected to smaller venues.
Trujillo, who joined METALLICA in 2003, discussed his journey from his previous bands to becoming part of the iconic metal group. He expressed humility when compared to his predecessors and emphasized his commitment to serving the music and the band’s vision.
METALLICA frontman James Hetfield has praised Trujillo’s contributions to the band, highlighting his musical ability, professionalism, and positive personality as invaluable assets to the group’s dynamic and success.
