Metallica Set to Release Limited Edition “The Call Of Ktulu” Poster Again This Thursday
Metallica enthusiasts have reason to rejoice as the band announces the reissue of the coveted “The Call Of Ktulu” poster, scheduled for Thursday, March 21, at 1 PM, PT, through the Met Store. Originally crafted in 2015, this reprint will feature striking metallic ink, adding a fresh allure to the iconic design.
The poster, a creation by the talented artist Richey Beckett, holds sentimental value for both Metallica and their fans. Beckett, a close friend and long-standing collaborator of the band, recently faced a medical setback. In January, he underwent emergeđťš—cy surgery to address a suÔ€Ô€en retinal tear, a condition that threatened his vision and livelihood as a visual artist.
Acknowledging Beckett’s challenging journey, Metallica pledges that all proceeds from the sale of this exclusive Fifth Member item will directly support the artist during his period of recovery and uncertainty.
Reflecting on his ongoing healing process, Beckett shares, “The recovery period is ongoing. It happened about two months ago, and my eye now looks normal, but right now, my vision is like looking at a fairground mirror. It’s wobbly, and the straight lines are all crĐ°zy looking, so even if I could see enough to do other things, it’s not gonna be sharp enough to draw to the way that I’m used to.”
Given the anticipated demand, Metallica urges fans to mark their calendars and prepare to secure their copy promptly when the sale commences at 1 PM PT on Thursday.
