PRONG’s frontman Tommy Victor shared his thoughts on METALLICA’s ‘Ride The Lightning,’ expressing his ongoing astonishment at the album

In a recent interview with Radioactive MikeZ on the 96.7 KCAL-FM program “Wired In The Empire,” PRONG frontman Tommy Victor was asked to compare METALLICA’s albums “Ride The Lightning” and “Master Of Puppets.”

Victor expressed his preference for “Ride The Lightning,” stating that he is still аmаzed by the record and finds it baffling. He praised the album for its uniqueness, brilliance, and rawness, highlighting the exceptional guitar playing and hooks. Victor marveled at how the album was created on a low budget, raising questions about its creation process.

PRONG’s thirteenth studio album, “State Of Emerge𝚗cy,” was released last October via Steamhammer/SPV. Produced by Steve Evetts, the album features diverse tracks ranging from post-punk to classic rippers. Victor explained the decision to cover RUSH’s “Working Man,” citing his admiration for Geddy Lee and the influence of RUSH on his musical upbringing.

In another interview with Decibel magazine, Victor discussed his choice to write all the songs on “State Of Emerge𝚗cy” himself, attributing it to necessity and his critical attitude towards collaborative efforts. He acknowledged that collaborative work sometimes compromises his artistic vision, but he stands firm in his approach to songwriting.
