Doro Unleashes Her Rendition of Metallica’s Classic ‘The Four Horsemen’

Drawing inspiration from the early 80s Metallica era, Doro has officially released her rendition of the iconic track ‘The Four Horsemen.’

This digital release on January 19th serves as a preview for her upcoming digital EP titled ‘Conqueress – Extended,’ slated for release on March 1st via Nuclear Blast Records.

Doro’s cover of ‘The Four Horsemen’ is not only a standalone release but is also included on Disc 2 of the physical versions of her recent studio album ‘Conqueress – Forever Strong and Proud.’ This album showcases Doro’s interpretation of well-known tracks, including Bonnie Tyler’s ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ and Judas Priest’s ‘Living After Midnight,’ featuring guest vocals from none other than Rob Halford.

Reflecting on her rendition of Metallica’s classic, Doro expresses, “Metallica’s debut album, ‘Kill ‘Em All,’ has just celebrated its 40th anniversary. I can still recall the first shows we played together in Europe in the mid-eighties. The Metallica guys, back then with Cliff Burton, were just great, and we quickly became friends. There was a very special spirit of optimism in the metal scene that I like to remember. That’s why I re-recorded ‘The Four Horsemen,’ one of the early Metallica classics. I still love the song.”

Running over seven minutes, ‘The Four Horsemen’ originally featured as the second track on Metallica’s groundbreaking debut album, ‘Kill ‘Em All.’ This composition was penned by James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, and former guitarist (and future Megadeth star) Dave Mustaine.
