Metallica affirmed its popularity by dominating Billboard’s Hard Rock chart
Metallica, undeniably one of the most successful rock bands in history, continues its reign on a Billboard chart that seems tailor-made for them. This week, the iconic group not only graces the chart but occupies multiple spots simultaneously with several of their most beloved collections.
On Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums chart, Metallica seizes three positions, an impressive feat in a list comprising only 25 spaces. This means that Metallica currently commands 12% of the entire chart.
Leading the charge among Metallica’s three entries on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart is their eponymous album, holding steady at No. 11, maintaining its position from the previous period. This title has previously claimed the top spot and now boasts an impressive 415 weeks on the chart.
Climbing a few spots from the previous week is the timeless “Master of Puppets,” securing the No. 21 slot in this frame. Although it never reached No. 1, this record has a solid standing with nearly 100 weeks on the chart.
Following closely behind is another Metallica classic, “Ride the Lightning,” making a triumphant return to the Top Hard Rock Albums chart at No. 22 after missing out on the previous edition. “Ride the Lightning” achieved its peak at No. 3.
In a noteworthy distinction, Metallica is one of only two bands to occupy more than one slot on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart this week. The other participant in this display of popularity is Linkin Park, a rock outfit currently on hiatus. Linkin Park’s albums, “Hybrid Theory” and “Meteora,” rise to No. 7 and No. 8, respectively, showcasing a parallel demonstration of enduring fan support.
Metallica’s consistent chart dominance underscores their enduring influence and popularity, reaffirming their status as one of the defining rock bands in music history.
