Magic Johnson lost his fortune because the substantial expenditures on a 10,000 square meter mansion in Bel-Air

A former Los Angeles Lakers player once resided in a six-bedroom home in Moraga Estates, currently listed for $14.5 million. The property, being sold by Compass dealer Nancy Ellin, also includes the entire gated community, spanning 10,000 square feet. Among its features are an indoor basketball court, six bedrooms, and a locker room adorned with autographs from former NBA players.

Having acquired the house in 2004, Ellin embarked on a series of upscale renovations. The property, now boasting marble finishes, custom cabinets, high-end appliances, and design elements inspired by Moroccan/Spanish influences from Ellin’s travels, stands out as a uniquely appealing and celebratory living space. The extensive grounds feature a large brick patio, built-in barbecue, pool, and fire pit.

The three-story house’s entrance welcomes visitors with a dramatic lobby, a grand staircase, and wide wood plank flooring crafted by hand. On the first level, an exquisite formal dining room with custom built-ins and a silver leaf soffit ceiling is accessible. The spacious living area seamlessly connects to the family room, which incorporates a wood-burning fireplace and a Moroccan-style seating rotunda. Nearby, a distinctive chef’s kitchen equipped with marble counters, a seating island, and a butler’s closet awaits. French doors surrounding a sizable breakfast area open to the backyard, allowing ample natural light.

Ascending to the second floor reveals the expansive main room, featuring a balcony, sitting area, and fireplace. The sleek, all-white master bathroom exudes style, housing a Jacuzzi tub and a steam shower. The third level hosts a well-equipped gym, three bunk beds for children, a guest bedroom, and a bathroom. As anticipated, there’s a custom-built indoor basketball court, and a window in the game area offers a glimpse for those who prefer to observe their friends in action.
