Metallica’s James Hetfield Enjoys Idyllic Yacht Vacation with Family in Mykonos

 

Metallica’s iconic frontman, James Hetfield, took a break from the stage to savor the Mediterranean sun during a luxurious yacht holiday with his family on the enchanting Greek island of Mykonos.

The 54-year-old rocker appeared completely at ease as he lounged on the opulent vessel alongside his wife Francesca and their two daughters, Cali (20) and Marcella (16), and son Castor (18).

Demonstrating a preference for a more serene lifestyle, James embraced quality time with his loved ones under the Mediterranean sunshine. In a playful moment, he even sprayed his kids with water from his jet ski, leading to laughter. However, the tables turned when James eventually took a good-natured tumble into the water, giving his children the last laugh.

When not exploring new warm destinations worldwide, James, with an estimated net worth of $300 million, and his family call Vail, Colorado, home. This small town, renowned as a popular ski resort, is nestled at the base of Vail Mountain and serves as the hometown of James’ longtime wife.

Despite maintaining a relatively private life, James has openly credited Francesca, 48, for playing a pivotal role in his personal growth. Having embraced sobriety since 2002, the rhythm guitarist acknowledges Fran’s support in helping him manage anger issues constructively.

 

True to his rocker roots, James, known for his abstinence from alcohol, enjoyed the Mykonos getaway in characteristic style—donning grunge-inspired camouflage print swim shorts and a chunky cross pendant necklace.

 

The family, assisted by the crew, engaged in jet ski antics, laughter-filled chats, and refreshing dips in the crystal blue waters. James and Francesca shared light moments ascending the ladder after ocean swims, while daughter Cali showcased her stylish side in an orange and white striped bikini.
