Metallica is on the verge of making history as the first major metal band to perform in Saudi Arabia, as they prepare to take the stage in the capital city of Riyadh on December 14 as part of the three-day Soundstorm Festival. This momentous occasion is a significant landmark in the entertainment landscape of the country, and the iconic heavy metal giants are set to kick off the festival on its opening night.
The announcement was officially made by Metallica, expressing their excitement for the upcoming performance in Riyadh. In a statement, they shared, “We’re not done with 2023 just yet, as an amazing opportunity has just come our way to perform at a major festival that we have never played in a part of the world we rarely get to visit. We’re excited to announce that on Thursday, Dec. 14, we’ll be the first hard rock band to ever play at MDLBeast’s Soundstorm Festival in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.”
This concert holds special significance as it marks Metallica’s return to live performances in the Middle East since their last appearance in the United Arab Emirates in 2011.
