The 1965 Impala represented a completely new design, while the 1967 and 1969 models featured updated body designs on the same redesigned perimeter frame introduced in 1965. Each year brought distinctive facelifts to the Impala, giving each model its unique appearance.

During the early 1960s, Chevrolet’s fundamental body designs became more refined, and the Impala’s package included lavish chrome trim, adding a touch of luxury to its appearance. This trend continued inside the cars, where Chevrolet showcased the finest materials and equipment they had to offer. In essence, the Impala was evolving into a sort of entry-level Cadillac, a development welcomed by both the company and its customers.
