Metallica Extends Generosity with $70,000 Donation to Detroit Nonprofits

Metallica demonstrated their commitment to giving back by donating $70,000 to two Detroit nonprofit organizations following their recent performances at Ford Field.

The Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeast Michigan received $35,000, a contribution that will provide approximately 100,000 meals to individuals in need, according to the organization.

Additionally, Alternatives for Girls, a support group in southwest Detroit, also received a $35,000 donation from Metallica.

As part of Metallica’s broader philanthropic efforts, $30,000 was directed to the Farmlink Project, the main charitable partner throughout the band’s M72 World Tour. This California-based nonprofit focuses on redirecting surplus farm products to food banks.

The allocation of funds is being overseen by Metallica’s All Within My Hands foundation.

Metallica’s charitable contributions align with other notable celebrities who have supported Gleaners this year, including Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen, who made announcements about their contributions during their respective Detroit tour stops.

The two Ford Field shows held by Metallica on Friday and Sunday collectively drew approximately 130,000 concertgoers, according to a representative of the band.
