The 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards, taped on October 3 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, premiered on BET on Tuesday (October 10). Rap duo Drake and 21’s collaborative album “Views” won “Hip Hop Album of the Year” at the annual ceremony. Over albums like Anyways, Life’s Great… by GloRilla, Coi by Coi, God Did by DJ Khaled, Heroes & Villains by Metro Boomin, Jack by Jackman, Pink Tape by Lil Uzi Vert, and Traumazine by Megan Thee Stallion, her Loss triumphed.

for the Billboard 200 chart, Her Loss debuted at No. 1 for the week of November 4, 2022, with initial sales of 404,000 album equivalent units. Kendrick Lamar took up the trophy for Best Hip Hop Album with 2016’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.

Fat Joe to Host BET’s Hip Hop Awards in 2023

Fat Joe hosted the event for the second year in a row. The 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards nominations were led by Cardi B and 21 Savage, who both received a whopping 12 nods. With only nine, Drake’s wasn’t far behind. In addition to Timbaland and Swizz Beatz receiving the Cultural Influence Award, hip-hop pioneer Marley Marl received the I Am Hip Hop award.
