In a recent interview, Lil Wayne’s daughter revealed that he taught her to “keep a thick skin and be true to yourself.”
On Friday, Lil Wayne and Reginae Carter, the daughter of Toya Johnson, presented a NYX Professional Makeup event in association with Universal Studios. Carter talked candidly about her father’s lessons. The 24-year-old is making a lot of money from organizing events, managing businesses, and doing TV appearances. Carter claims to be knowledgeable about every facet of the field.
“My dad taught me a lot about just being in the industry, period,” Carter told People. “With him being in this industry since he was 12 years old, he taught me just to keep a thick skin, always be true to myself, and never let anyone tell me what I can and cannot do.”
She also props her dad for teaching her to ignore the headlines about Toya and himself. Outside of her parents, Carter has become a social media “it girl,” with millions of fans supporting her multi-hyphenated career.
